Vertech Group has announced the majority acquisition of AUAV, an award-winning drone services and data solution business, on the day of the drone specialist’s ninth birthday.

Continuing the company’s momentum and growth in 2021, the deal adds yet another mark to the tally for the growth period faced by Vertech Group, having completed a series of strategic acquisitions and joint ventures across Australia and New Zealand over the past two years.

Established in 2013, AUAV provides precise and high-quality data to its clients across Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia through their specialised aerial and asset inspection services, where safety is of the utmost importance. The acquisition of AUAV represents a crucial development in the Vertech suite of companies as it paves the way for the group to further venture into the aerial surveying industry.

Vertech Group managing director, Tom Brennan, commented: “Having AUAV and its team join the group, further demonstrates our drive to challenge conventional means of delivery, to introduce disruptive technologies and to not just embrace, but be at the forefront of digital innovation.

“This deal excites me on several fronts as in addition to a best-in-class delivery of terrestrial, aerial and marine surveying and inspection, the AUAV team have developed and refined the inSite™ software platform, a powerful digital tool has proven to improve data management, provide significant cost and safety benefits while reducing the carbon footprint for both our business and for our clients. “

AUAV’s managing director, James Rennie, added: “Joining the Vertech group of companies provides a considerable opportunity for the growth of AUAV. Over the past 8 years, AUAV has excelled in providing unmanned aerial services that are complementary to the great depth of services provided by Vertech. Joining the group creates the opportunity to grow into larger national and international markets and broaden our offering. This exciting development is a validation that drone-based inspections and surveys are a highly valued and sought-after service by global clients.”

AUAV’s addition to Vertech is only the latest in a growing line of acquisitions and joint ventures made by the inspection and maintenance specialists over the last two years. Vertech Group plans on further expanding its horizons with new and exciting potential ventures into the 2022 period, where it will continue to develop its operations and business growth.
