Dutch IoT expert TWTG has added another product to its already extensive NEON product line, following the launch of two wireless devices last year, the Vibration Sensors and the Temperature Transmitter.

Based on a similar approach as the NEON Valve and Temperature Sensors, the new Contact Sensor works with magnetic field detection to remotely provide certainty about the correct placement of assets. Collecting crucial data points ensures that safety and efficiency levels will be increased within a site and provide this data wirelessly.

The sensor measures the presence of the magnet, and thus the asset, on a frequent, time-based interval. When the sensor detects that the magnet is not present anymore, the sensor will send an alert message which can trigger alarms to operators. Like all NEON devices, the Contact Sensor has the following features: Battery powered, ATEX Zone 1/IECEx certification, and LoRaWAN wireless backhaul.

John Tillema, TWTG’s CTO praised the development effort of the team: “We knew that once we had developed our first products, it would pave the way for faster and more precise product development in the future. It is an important aspect of our work, to listen to our customers – it allows us to design and develop new solutions to address actual use cases and increase field safety. I’m very proud of what the team has achieved.”

The TWTG NEON product range supports all industrial customers moving towards LoRaWAN as the Industrial IoT network of the future.
