Technip Energies has announced a significant expansion in India with the opening of a new office near Ahmedabad in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City and the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Research and Innovation Centre at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) Research Park in Chennai. These initiatives reinforce the company’s commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective energy solutions for both domestic and global markets.

Strengthening Operations in Gujarat
The new office in Ahmedabad marks Technip Energies’ fourth operational centre in India. Located in GIFT City, India’s first operational Smart City, the facility is positioned within a business-friendly environment that offers world-class infrastructure and a skilled talent pool. By 2025, the office is expected to employ around 300 professionals, supporting the company’s expansion plans and contributing to regional economic development.

Driving Clean Energy Innovation at IITM Research Park
The Research and Innovation Centre at IITM Research Park will serve as Technip Energies’ fourth global lab, complementing the company’s existing technology hubs in Europe and the United States. This facility will focus on low-carbon energy derivatives, industrial decarbonisation, and circularity, aligning with Technip Energies’ core markets and long-term sustainability goals.

Leadership Perspectives on Expansion
Technip Energies CEO Arnaud Pieton highlighted the strategic importance of India in the company’s global vision: “India is a cornerstone of our global strategy. Our expansion in India reflects our commitment to accelerating the country’s clean energy transition—one of the largest in the world—while supporting its industrial growth aspirations. Every year, around 1.5 million new engineers graduate in India. By combining India’s talent and research ecosystem with our global expertise, we are shaping next-generation energy solutions that are advanced, scalable, and sustainable for industries and communities worldwide.”

Davendra Kumar, managing director of Technip Energies India, emphasised the role of India in global energy transformation:

“India stands at the forefront of the global energy transition, driven by innovation, talent, and an unwavering commitment to sustainability. With our new office in Ahmedabad and the Research and Innovation Centre at IITM Research Park, we are deepening our roots in India—not just as a technology and engineering powerhouse, but as a key enabler of the country’s journey toward a low-carbon future. These initiatives will foster indigenous solutions, create high-value jobs, and strengthen India’s position as a hub for clean energy innovation.”

Leveraging IITM Research Park’s Ecosystem
The IITM Research Park, India’s first university-based research hub, brings together academia, industry, government, and start-ups, providing access to cutting-edge technologies, top talent, and centres of excellence. This ecosystem will enable Technip Energies to scale up and commercialise technologies, fostering affordable and sustainable solutions by leveraging its decades of experience in the energy sector.

A Strong and Expanding Presence in India
Technip Energies has maintained a long-standing presence in India for over five decades, with key offices in Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai and an employee base of 4,600. Additionally, the company operates a dedicated manufacturing unit in Dahej, Gujarat, allowing it to serve both the expanding Indian market and global energy projects.

This strategic expansion reinforces Technip Energies’ leadership in sustainable energy solutions, strengthening its ability to support India’s clean energy ambitions and the global energy transition.
