Systems Navigator is supporting VTTI’s Eurotank Amsterdam in using data-driven decision making to further optimise its operations, making use of Systems Navigator’s proven technology.

The project consisted of a multi-scenario study focusing on product-in-tank allocations, tank-to-jetty line-up optimisation, understanding bottlenecks and strategies to reduce waiting time for terminal customers. Simulation technology is an essential tool when optimising terminal operations, as it provides insights into possible performance improvements to find the best scenarios for investment, resulting in a balanced approach that benefits all terminal customers.

Systems Navigator’s simulation models allow terminals to benefit from a data-driven approach to further optimise terminal performance. The in-house developed models are proven in a global project portfolio and are continuously developed to match today’s customer requirements. Data-driven decision making is based on facts and quantitative scenario comparison.

Systems Navigator said: “By analysing and simulating the interaction between different terminal areas we gained a clear understanding of the current and future terminal performance,” stated Ivo Majoor, consultant at Systems Navigator.
