Stolthaven Terminals has been awarded the prestigious EcoVadis gold rating for sustainability performance, recognising the company’s exceptional environmental, safety, social, ethical, and governance practices in 2024.
The EcoVadis certification evaluates a company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and the effectiveness of its sustainability management system. Stolthaven Terminals’ gold rating places it among the top 1 percent of all companies assessed within the warehousing and storage sector. This accolade marks a significant achievement, as it reflects a ten-point improvement over the silver status attained by the company in 2023.

The gold rating encompasses all Stolthaven Terminals’ wholly owned facilities worldwide and underscores notable advancements across all EcoVadis sustainability categories: environment, ethics, labour and human rights, and sustainable procurement.
Piran Patel, global programme manager – Sustainability, remarked: “This gold certification is a milestone that highlights our commitment and progress towards our sustainability ambitions and reflects our continuous improvements in key areas. For example, in labour and human rights and sustainable procurement, EcoVadis rated Stolthaven Terminals in the top 2 percent of all companies it assessed in the warehousing and storage industry, which is the result of our strong focus on people, ethical and responsible business practices and sustainable supply chains.”
Guy Bessant, president of Stolthaven Terminals, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement, stating: “We are extremely pleased with this gold rating from EcoVadis, which demonstrates our commitment to enhancing the sustainability of our operations and those of the wider supply chain and reducing our impact on the environment and the communities in which we operate.
“This achievement is thanks to everyone across Stolthaven Terminals engaging in efforts to reduce our environmental footprint across all our operations and working towards our ambition to make our primary activities carbon neutral by 2040.”
