Construction has begun on a petrol storage centre in Amlekhganj, which is part of the second phase of a project to import diesel from India.

Under the second phase of the project to import petrol through a pipeline from Motihari to Amlekhganj in Vihar, infrastructure construction work is proceeding at a fast pace. As part of the second phase of work, the construction of a petrol storage house (tank) has started under the Amlekhganj depot with the technical support of IOC.

The Amaleshganj depot of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) says that after the completion of the first phase of the project to import diesel through the pipeline from Motihari, the second phase of importing petrol through the pipeline has started.

The distance from Motihari to Amleshganj is 76 km. According to the agreement between Nepal and India, it is said that the second phase will be completed by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
