Cryogenic gas processing equipment producer Nikkiso Cryogenic Industries’ Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (CE&IG) and clean energy company Unitrove are jointly developing a complete liquid hydrogen bunkering installation.

One of Unitrove’s missions is to support the delivery of zero emission fuels for the future, including hydrogen. Nikkiso CE&IG has supplied custom equipment for the installation, including a sump from its heat exchangers unit (Cryoquip) and equipment from its cryogenic pumps unit (ACD). The installation is expected to be complete in 2022 and was showcased at COP26. It is the first of several expected projects.

“We are excited and proud to be part of one of the world’s first liquid hydrogen (LH2) bunkering facility projects and the drive toward more energy-efficient solutions for the marine market,” said Ole Jensen, vice president, Europe, Nikkiso CE&IG.
