NW Natural Holdings has elected two new board members, Karen Lee and Nathan Partain, effective January 2021.

Karen Lee has served as CEO of Pioneer Human Services for the past 10 years. Pioneer is a non-profit social enterprise business based in Seattle, which operates several for-profit businesses to help fund its social mission to assist individuals with criminal histories lead healthy and productive lives.

Prior to that, she served as commissioner of the Washington State Employment Security Department and held several leadership roles at Puget Sound Energy including director of Gas Operations. She also was an associate attorney at K&L Gates LLP in Seattle and spent four years as an officer in the US army.

Nathan Partain is president and co-chief investment officer of Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co. Previously, he was with Duff & Phelps Investment Research Co. where he was the director of utility, equity and fixed income research.

Partain is also president, CEO and a member of the board of directors of DNP Select Income Fund Inc, Duff & Phelps Utility and Corporate Bond Trust Inc, DTF Tax-Free Income Inc, and Duff & Phelps Utility and Infrastructure Fund Inc.

He has also held financial and regulatory positions with Gulf States Utilities Co. Partain has announced his retirement from Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co. at the end of 2020.
