Russia’s largest independent natural gas producer NOVATEK has passed the resolution to change the composition of its management board.

Firstly, the company’s board of directors terminated the powers of board member Evgeny Kot.

Then, Sergey Solovyov was appointed deputy chairman of the management board – specifically, director for prospective projects with authority over LNG, decarbonisation, and gas chemical projects. He previously held the position of deputy chairman of the board, director for geology.

The company also elected Vladimir Kudrin for the position of deputy chairman of the board – director for geology.

Kudrin has worked for a total of 20 years in NOVATEK’s subsidiaries and joint ventures. He also held the position of general director in Arcticgas for the last seven years.

NOVATEK entered the global LNG market in 2017 with the Yamal LNG project. Its upstream activities mainly focus on the Yamal-Nenets autonomous region, which is the world’s largest natural gas producing area.

It is also a majority stakeholder of the Arctic LNG 2 project. Arctic LNG 2 project includes three LNG liquefaction trains of 6.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) each.
