Glavgosexpertiza, the Main Department of State Expertise of Russia, has approved IPP’s proposed construction of a new light oil tank in the port of Novorossiysk, Russia.

IPP’s Novorossiysk terminal focusses on petroleum products, liquid mineral fertilisers and vegetable oils. As well as storing products, it is a transhipment terminal, with products coming in via road and rail and leaving via ship.

The proposed new 1,000 m3 tank, no. 19, will be used for the reception, storage and transhipment of light oil products to sea transport.

The new tank will be placed next to an existing tank, no. 11, which stores diesel. A new retaining wall will be built between number 19 and another tank, number 10. The plans show it will be connected to the terminal’s technological system, and some utility networks will be moved and new ones laid.

The plans were reviewed by Glavgosexpertiza, which conducts expert appraisal of design documentation and engineering survey results for Russia’s Ministry of Construction.
