Exolum, which transports and stores a wide range of bulk liquids in eight countries, and the UK MoD, have a longstanding contract that protects the future supply of aviation fuel to the military.

Now, both organisations have pledged their commitment to “innovate, invest, and aspire to implement and realise green and sustainable initiatives”. The Sustainable Initiatives charter is aligned with and will support the delivery of the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 26) themes of: Clean Energy, Science, Innovation, Protecting Nature and Inclusivity.

Nacho Casajus explained: “We have a strong focus on innovation, technology and are continually developing for a sustainable future. We look forward to further collaborating with the MoD.

“This charter shows our commitment to initiatives such as Sustainable Aviation Fuel, to achieve goals of Decarbonisation. Our strategic relationship with the MoD shows we are committed to developing initiatives that provide results in this area. We are collectively planning and taking the next steps to make sure this becomes a reality.”

Rear admiral Andy Kyte – assistant chief of defence staffs (Sp Ops) added: “The Defence Strategic Fuels Authority and Exolum have worked collaboratively to develop this charter, which clearly demonstrates our joint intent to improve sustainability.”
