Angolan minister of mineral resources, oil and gas, HE Diamantino Azevedo, has officially inaugurated the construction of the Oceanic Terminal.

With an investment value of $500 million and a storage capacity of 580,000 cubic metres to store petroleum derivatives including gasoline, diesel and LPG, the Oceanic Terminal in Bengo is expected to create over 3,500 direct and indirect jobs during the construction phase of the project.

“We are very proud to launch the oceanic terminal project in Bengo. It is a project of high national relevance as per Angola’s National Development Plan 2018-2022. It will be highly beneficial to the communities in Bengo along with other opportunities it will create in sectors such as telecommunications and transportation,” said Diamantino Azevedo during the launch event.

The Oceanic Terminal on Barra do Dande is scheduled for completion within 17 months from the launch. Once operational, it’s expected to significantly improve fuel distribution in Angola and create safer and cost-efficient regional trade and distribution opportunities.
