Andeavor has announced that it has secured more pipeline and storage capacity in Mexico from Pemex, the country’s state-owned oil and gas company.

It is to utilise three marine and storage terminals in the Mexican states of Baja California Sur and Sinaloa, and two pipelines and two storage facilities in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua.

“With these additional positions, we intend to continue our strategic expansion within Mexico by further extending our existing West Coast and Southwest integrated value chains and growing our existing Marketing operations in the Northwestern region of Mexico with the ARCO® brand,” the company said in a statement.

Andeavor said the use of the facilities was awarded under Pemex’s third open season; the terms of the agreement are not disclosed.
