Vitol SA (Vitol) has signed a multi-year deal with Angola LNG Limited (ALNG) for the supply of LNG. ALNG cargoes will be delivered to Vitol at destinations around the world.

Vitol, Head of LNG, Pablo Galante Escobar said: “We are delighted to have entered into this agreement with Angola LNG. It is an exciting initiative for Vitol; we have a long history of investment and partnership across Africa and are pleased to add these LNG purchases to our portfolio.”

Angola LNG Marketing Ltd CEO, Artur Pereira said: “This sales agreement is an important step for Angola LNG and demonstrates our ability to respond to the needs of our customers and the market. Vitol has already purchased many LNG cargoes from Angola LNG. We look forward to continuing our successful relationship.”

At $10bn the Angola LNG project, built to create value from offshore gas resources, is one of the largest ever single investments in the Angolan oil and gas industry. The project is the result of a partnership between Sonangol, Chevron, BP, ENI and Total to gather and process gas and deliver 5.2 million tons of LNG a year to the global market.

Additionally, the project will supply natural gas to the Angolan market to help meet local industrial and energy needs; and will also produce propane, butane and condensate.
