Vesta Terminals BV announced the expansion of its subsidiary Vesta Terminal Antwerp NV today by 150,000 cbm for (bio) jet fuel, gasoil or diesel storage. This means the total capacity of the terminal will now stand at just under 950,000 cbm.

Five tanks with a capacity of 30,000 cbm each will make up the planned expansion, which will also see dedicated pipeline systems built “to ensure product quality requirements”, the company said in a statement.

The site is strategically located to ensure its status as a make and break bulk location for liquid fuels. It can handle the largest product tankers, but the European jet fuel supply has been under recent pressure to expand due to rapidly increasing demand.

It said tanks and pipeline infrastructure will allow the simultaneous storage and handling of different grades and products, and added “significant investments have turned Vesta Terminal Antwerp NV into a state-of-the-art storage terminal”.
