The Chemical Business Association (CBA), the voice of the chemical supply chain, is preparing for its highly anticipated 2024 Chemmie Awards night.

The awards, re-launched in 2023 to mark the Association’s centenary year at the world-renowned Concorde Centre in Manchester, have this year been rebranded to the ‘Chemmie Awards’ and will take place on the 28th of November at the Royal Armouries in Leeds. Over 350 people are expected to attend from member companies, alongside partners and colleagues from across the chemical supply chain. There will also be a number of international attendees.

The evening will recognise member companies and individuals from throughout the chemical supply chain through the numerous Chemmie Award categories.

In anticipation of the upcoming awards evening, CBA’s CEO Tim Doggett said: “This is a fantastic event to celebrate the vital and often critical importance of our member companies and their contributions to society, economy and sustainability. Our 2024 Chemmie Awards highlight and recognise the outstanding work that the companies and the people in the chemical supply chain do in the UK and internationally.”

He continued: “Events such as these, that assemble the best and brightest from across the chemical supply chain, are also incredibly important in fostering connections, collaborations, and ultimately innovation that will help to address and improve upon some of the chemical industry’s most pressing issues.”

CBA’s chair and CEO of Stort Group, Richard Gilkes commented: “Following the success of our chemical supply chain awards last year, this year’s event promises to be another amazing night for the chemical supply chain. I’m incredibly proud to be the Chair of the CBA as we come together again to celebrate the very best of our industry.”

Supporters of the 2024 ‘Chemmies’ include Airedale Group (Sustainability Award), Dachser Ltd (Lifetime Achievement Award), Department for Business and Trade (Young Person Award), DSV Air & Sea Ltd (Make A Difference Award), Meade-King, Robinson & Co Ltd (Community Engagement Award), Hibiscus Plc (Responsible Care Awards), Tiro Training Ltd (Wellbeing Award), Grace Overseas Ltd (Drinks Reception) and UM Terminals Ltd (Placecards).
