Rubis Terminal Rotterdam has announced the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase 2 of its expansion project is to take place this week.

The expansion works will be finished in the second quarter of 2020. It will consist of nine stainless steel heated tanks of 1.500 cbm and six stainless steel tanks of 3.000 cbm for chemicals. 

Additionally, a new berth for barges and an extra truck loading station will be constructed. Phase 1 was been completed in the fourth quarter of 2016. “There are plans to expand after phase 2 but it is not yet defined on what size of tanks,” the company told Storage Terminals Magazine.

Phase 1 saw the construction of 35,400 cbm of storage capacity.
