Gate Terminal welcomes the first carbon-neutral cargo by Vopak and Gasunie

A shared project between Vopak and Gasunie, Gate Terminal, has welcomed the first carbon-neutral cargo. It arrived last month and was purchased jointly by TotalEnergies and OMV.

By using waste-heat, Gate Terminal avoids burning gas and CO2-emissions – throughout the regasification activity.

Increased sustainability of the whole LNG supply chain and the LNG product itself is a central objective that ranks high on the terminal’s agenda.

Gate also recently announced ISCC-certified bio-LNG activity to further reduce the impact of its activities. It has promised that together with its partners, it will continue to embark on initiatives such as this.
