The EEMUA 231 Mechanical Integrity Basics training course is based on the guidance and good practice contained in EEMUA Publication 231 The mechanical integrity of plant containing hazardous substances: a guide to periodic examination and testing. A printed copy of EEMUA 231 is provided as part of the course.
The training course is for people responsible on a day-to-day basis for ensuring mechanical integrity of plant and equipment where there are hazardous substances present. Developed by EEMUA members from a range of industry sectors, the course is mainly aimed at mechanical integrity professionals working under UK legislation.
EEMUA 231 Mechanical Integrity Basics is positioned at the EEMUA Basic Application competency level i.e. above Awareness but below Practitioner. Therefore, EEMUA strongly recommends that the corresponding (and lower tier) Awareness-level EEMUA 231 Mechanical Integrity e-learning is passed before signing up for this course. Learners should also be actively engaged in a mechanical integrity role, have at least one year’s experience in this type of position and hold a relevant qualification.
On the course, you will learn how to:
- Manage the primary containment envelope effectively;
- Safely manage ageing plant;
- Deliver and demonstrate integrity management;
- Be in line with legislative requirements, good practice and Competent Authority expectations.
