China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) plans to construct a $2.2bn LNG receiving terminal in the eastern province of Jiangsu. The project, located in the city of Yancheng, is set to include a berth to accommodate vessels up to 100,000 tonnes, land-based storage and a pipeline grid. The terminal is expected to be completed in December 2020.

The storage tanks are also set to have a capacity of 220,000 cbm, or roughly 90,000 tonnes.

PHOENIX Petroleum Philippines, Inc. also expects to be part of the LNG project proposed by CNOOC, possibly in partnership with state-led Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC). PHOENIX Petroleum signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a unit of CNOOC earlier in June to develop a receiving terminal for imported LNG in the country.
